Seok Kang-hoon (Admission Year: 1996)

Korea National University of Transportation
Professor, Department of Sports Industry

Q1. How did the sports science classes you attended at Dongguk University and your overall learning experience at school influence your career?

Hello. My name is Seok Kang-hoon. I enrolled in the Department of Community Sports (currently Department of Sports Science) back in 1996 and graduated in 2000. At the moment, I am working as a professor at the Department of Sports Industry at the Korea National University of Transportation. Specifically, I teach university students who want to major in the field of sports. I was able to fulfill my dream of becoming a university professor, thanks to what I learned at the Department of Community Sports. The professors really cared about my experience at Dongguk University and mentored me as father figures throughout my time at school. In the end, I graduated with a wealth of knowledge and practical experiences that set me up well for future success. Dongguk University’s Department of Community Sports was a safe nest where I could prepare for my dreams. As a physical education student, I learned the subjects I needed to fulfill the academic requirements for my major, and I was also given plenty of opportunities to participate in various sports and activities with both younger and older students. That really helped me pursue and fulfill my goals.
